Protest of YES against Tree cutting at Ballal Circle, Mysore City.

Five Trees at Ballal Circle were felled down today by a local contractor with the help of the Forest department and another 12 more trees were to be cut mentioning that the trees were dangerous. Though permission was requested by the PWD department 4 months back to widen the road, the forest department had rejected it at that time and they had now sold the trees to a local contractor. YES Team interfered and stopped felling of these trees by staging a protest. YES even set a week’s dead line to the forest department to re-plant sapling at the place where the trees were cut. Though initially the Forest department did not oblige for the plea of YES, it later had to bow to the pressure of the YES organization and had to plant the saplings next to the place where the trees were cut down.
Protest of YES against Tree cutting Agrahara Circle, Mysore City

A beautiful tree which is more than 50 years old and is giving shade to the whole road was attempted to be cut at the Agrahara Market at around 5.30 pm by a local contractor with the help of the forest official. YES got the news about this act and the president Mr.Deepak Budaguppe and the General Secretary Mr.Deepak.M immediately rushed to the spot and avoided the tree to be cut fully. The tree had already lost half of its branches. The reason given for cutting the tree was that there would be a Toilet constructed in the place of the Tree. YES Organization did not agree to this point and stopped the cutting of the tree. The Contractor later frightened the members of the organization mentioning that he would cut the tree the next day with police protection and he had the support of the police. The Organizations effort in convincing the police went in vein and the police said that they would support the contractor in cutting the tree.

The Organization had no other go, but to immediately call for a protest the next day. It was amazing that the organization members and the local people numbering around 500 gathered at the Agrahara circle where the tree that was attempted to be cut was present and had to get on to Rasta Roko and blocked the traffic. It was only after the Mysore City Corporation Deputy Commissioner came to the spot and assured that the tree would not be cut, the organization took back the Rastha Roko.

YES requested all the Shop owners not to sell the Plastic or Paper Flags and to join hands and help the organization in making the students and public to show honor to the Indian National Flag and thus uphold the National Honor. YES seized many plastic flags from the shops that were selling the palstic flags even after repeted request from the YES and handed over those seized Plastic Flags to the Deputy commisioner of Mysore City to destroy those plastic flags with due respect.
Rally against Defense Minister Mr. George Fernandez's statement.

When the Kargil war started (The war between India and pakistan militants supported by Pakistan Government), the then Defence Minister Mr.George Fernandes gave a call to all the intruders of pakistan as to go back to their home country and India would allow them a safe passage. This dialogue was really bad and should have not come from the mouth of a Defence Minister. YES immediately took out a rally and warned the Defence Minister to take back his statement and punish the intruders as they ahd already killed lot of people in Indian army. (YES was the first organization in India to start a campaign and support the Indian Army during the Kargil war)

YES effort to correct the mistake of Regional Transport Officer RTO)

What do you do when the government is trying to correct the public through out the city and is not able to correct the mistakes that is going on in its own premises? YES found that the Regional Transportation Office (RTO) which tries catching the public for various mistakes through out the city was not able to control the "NO Parking" violation that was going on right in front of its office. A warning was given to RTO officials by YES to correct the mistake that is going on in front of its office and then try correcting the city.
YES effort to get the guilty punished in Veerappan's case.

Five aides of Veerappan, a dreaded poacher were sentenced to death by the Supreme Court of India and a few Human Right activists rose up to get some name and fame. They started arguing that the people should not be killed in the name of Law. They said that the people had the right to live and the court cannot hang them. Where were these people when the Supreme court gave orders to hang other people? Why did they raise their voice only when the Supreme court gave the judgement to hang Veerappan aides? Some thing fishy right. It was at this time that YES got back to these human rights activists and questioned them as to why they did not raise their voice when Veerappan killed many police officers? These activists just to make some name and fame pick up some issue and start a protect on the same. At this point of time, YES collected signatures from public and sent the same to the President of India requesting teh president not to pardon these dreaded poachers who had killed many innocent people and many Police officers
